‘Bridgerton-style’ Derbyshire country house hotel in new Four in a Bed series

A country house in Derbyshire that is marketing itself as a “Bridgerton-style” hotel stars in the newest series of Channel Four’s Four in a Bed. The house has recently been taken over by new owners and seen various improvements to the business.

The Kedleston Country House, in Quarndon, is a Derbyshire bed and breakfast that owners say offers visitors a taste of Regency England, as seen in popular TV shows Bridgerton and Sanditon. The current owners, who first purchased the house just days before the first lockdown in 2020, are keen to share their new and updated property with people living in and around the area.

Currently celebrating two years of ownership, the Stephenson family who own the property have overcome a number of challenges to make the house as appealing as it is now. “Four in a Bed” airs all this week, with the Derbyshire-based property set to appear on Wednesday’s episode (Mar 30).

Helen Stephenson, the owner of the property, said: “Purchasing the Kedleston Country House just days before the first COVID-19 lockdown came with many tough challenges. As a family we supported each other every step of the way.”

With unique events, artisan markets and music nights, she says The Kedleston Country House is fast becoming a popular haunt with locals and staycators alike. Guests can enjoy fine dining with homegrown and locally sourced food while sampling the extensive and exciting drinks menu.

Afterwards, guests are able to stay in one of the five boutique bedrooms and wake up in luxury starting the day with a Champagne Breakfast. Perfect for those looking for somewhere to host their wedding, or another special occasion, Kedleston Country House offers visitors a taste of regency and the chance to live like the characters from Bridgerton.

A family home set in the historic Kedleston Estate in Derbyshire, this stunning Georgian house is quintessentially English with rolling countryside views. Built in 1762, The Kedleston Country House was designed by Robert Adam while he was working on his grandest design – Kedleston Hall. He went on to become one of the most successful, fashionable, and inspirational architects in the country.

The first episode of the new series of Four in a Bed is now available on Channel Four streaming service More4 with The Kedleston Country House featuring on the channel at 5pm on Wednesday, March 30, – exactly two years to the day that the current owners took possession.
