Corby Town Council to Launch New Small Grants Scheme After Christmas

Corby Town Council to Launch New Small Grants Scheme After Christmas

Corby Town Council has confirmed that a new £5,000 Small Grants Scheme will be launched immediately after Christmas, offering small, fast-access grants to community organisations focused on mental wellbeing, social connection, and support for residents during the winter and early new year period.

The scheme is designed to help local charities, volunteer groups, and not-for-profit organisations deliver projects that respond to the challenges residents often face after the festive season—such as loneliness, financial strain, and mental health pressures. Grants will be available for initiatives including wellbeing sessions, social groups, warm spaces, youth programmes, and community outreach work.

Cllr Stephen O’Brien said:

“Launching this scheme after Christmas is exactly the right time. The weeks that follow the festive period can be some of the hardest for people—emotionally, socially, and financially. This fund will give community groups the support they need to deliver projects that genuinely help residents through those challenges. It’s a practical, compassionate step that will make a real difference.”

Cllr Simon Rielly, Leader of the Town Council, added:

“We want this scheme to provide timely support when residents need it most. By launching after Christmas, we are targeting a period where mental wellbeing pressures often increase. This fund will enable local groups to step in with meaningful support and create stronger, more connected communities across Corby.”

Full application details, criteria, and opening dates will be published shortly after Christmas, ensuring groups can apply early in the new year.
