GCSE results day Lincolnshire 2024 – full list of each school’s grades

Tension has been mounting for thousands of young people across Lincolnshire over the past few weeks as they have waited for their GCSE results, which were published from 8am onwards today (Thursday, August 22).

Staff were on duty in schools and colleges to advise about the next stage of their education, which could be A-levels, T-levels or apprenticeships, in sixth form or at college. Pupils were hoping to get strong passes which are denoted by grades 5 to 9.

A grade four is classed as a standard pass. Last year, 68.2 per cent of all grades were marked at grade 4 or above – slightly higher than in 2019 when the last exams were sat before Covid, when it was 67.3 per cent.

But it was a substantial fall from recent years when it was 73.2 per cent in 2022 and 77.1 per cent in 2021 as teacher assessment was used. The fall has been engineered to bring results back into line after two years of grade inflation.

Remember, if your results weren’t what you were expecting, firstly don’t panic. You have options. First things first, speak to your school or college – they could be flexible on entry requirements if you’ve just missed your grades.

They’ll also be able to give you the best advice on whether re-sitting while studying for your next qualifications is a possibility. And if you’re really unhappy with your results you can enter to resit all GCSE subjects in summer 2025. You can also take autumn exams in English language and maths.
