
There are long queues after a crash between a motorcyclist and a pedestrian near a Shell petrol station on the A38 which is also affecting the M1. The collision has taken place at around 7am on Tuesday, March 29 on Alfreton Road heading towards Alfreton and its junction with the M1.
Google traffic indicates very slow moving traffic on the A38 near its slip road with the M1 and near the scene of the crash by the petrol station – motorists should expect delays if travelling in the area. You can follow the latest updates on this breaking incident in our live blog below.
Traffic website Inrix says that the A38 Alfreton Road westbound is blocked, there is queueing traffic due to the accident between a motorcyclist and a pedestrian involved at Shell petrol station. The website also states one lane is closed on the M1 nearby between junction 28 and 29 heading northbound, due to a vehicle having its tyre changed. Buses are also diverting after the A38 crash.
A spokesperson for trentbarton said: “A38 Alfreton Road is partially blocked due to a road traffic collision at Shell petrol station. the nines 9.1 is diverting via Common Road and Huthwaite Road missing these stops: Common Road, The Snipe, Henning Lane, Nursery Avenue, Percy Street.”
