A stretch of a busy route in Lincoln has been closed by police responding to an “incident”. The Lincoln Eastern Bypass was shut in both directions on Monday night (June 10).
Lincolnshire Police confirmed the road was closed from B1190 Washingborough Road to Greetwell Road, near the Greetwell Road roundabout The incident was first reported at around 7.40pm.
No further details have yet been given by police, with the force saying only that it was “due to a police incident”. Drivers were asked to avoid the area and find alternative routes.

Police said in an initial update at just before 9pm: “Part of the Lincoln eastern bypass has been closed near the Greetwell Road roundabout due to a police incident. Please avoid the area and we will update as soon as we have further information.”
