
Five appliances are currently on the scene of a fire in Rushden with roads closed and delays in place (Wednesday, May 24). The blaze is located at a business premises on Harborough Road, according to Northamptonshire Fire and Rescue Service.
A statement was posted on their Facebook page at 1.10pm with firefighters currently using hose reel jets to put out the flames “as quickly and safely as possible”.
Harborough Road has been closed to traffic and pedestrians – along with the Park Road junction. Crews are asking members of the public to avoid the area and that all residents remain inside their property unless asked by the fire service to do otherwise.

A spokesperson said: “Doors and windows should also be closed for the time being. Adjacent properties have been evacuated as a precaution due to potential unstable structure.
“Crews will be at the scene for some time and appreciate the public’s support whilst they are dealing with this incident.”
