Man charged with Skegness murder as Rhys Howell dies following ‘altercation’

A man has been charged with the murder of Rhys Howell following an incident on the Lincolnshire coast. Police were called to an altercation at a property on Grosvenor Road in Skegness on the evening of Monday, August 19.

Rhys Howell, 57, was found with serious injuries and was treated by paramedics at the scene, but died a short while later. A police cordon was put in place in Grosvenor Road and crime scene investigators were seen entering a property on the street.

On Thursday, August 22, police charged David Lupton, 60, with murder and he will appear at Lincoln Magistrates’ Court on August 23. Officers are still asking the public for help with the investigation.
