Chelsea Flower Show may be over and there’s definitely a chill in the air now, but home buyers are still thinking about gardens.
In fact, access to a garden or a green space is a top priory for both buyers and renters, according to Zoopla, which said a garden tops the list as one of the most desirable features for a rental home.
Buyers were just as keen to get their hands on a garden too.
The property website put together its most viewed properties for sale under the search term ‘landscaped garden’ and a house in Newark made it in the top seven for the whole of the UK.
The top seven list had a six-bed detached in Totteridge, London in the number one slot, in fact three of the homes were a million pounds or above, however, taking the number 6 slot is a £475,000 house in Newark.
The house in Beacon Hill Road has around 0.6 of an acre of garden, which includes an extensive paved patio and a long rear lawned garden. There is a vegetable area, an orchard… even a wildflower garden.
Imagine collecting the bounty from the orchard – Apple, Pear, Plum and Damson – and then heading off to the greenhouse or shed that comes with the sale to plan your gardening calendar for the next year.
For sale with Richard Watkinson & Partners in Newark, the house itself has good sized rooms and a conservatory. The three-bed detached also has a double garage with workshop.
