Police called as man suspected of carrying weapon in Radford street

Police have arrested a man who was suspected to be carrying a weapon in Nottingham. Officers were called to the Ashburnham Avenue area of Radford and after searching the area they arrested a man on suspicion of possession of a knife in a public place.

A knife was recovered after a man was stopped in Alfreton Road at around 1.45pm on Friday, April 8. Police are continuing with their inquiries into the incident, including checking CCTV footage.

Chief Inspector Neil Humphris, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “The swiftness in which the suspect was safely detained sends a clear message of how seriously the force treats all reports of incidents involving weapons.
