Police hunt gang after man ‘beaten and slashed in own home’ in Mansfield

A man was hospitalised after reportedly being punched and slashed with a knife by four men in his own home.

Police are investigating the aggravated burglary in Tuckers Lane, Mansfield, which took place on September 16, at around 7.10pm.

It is believed that a group of four men barged into the property before beating the resident and allegedly attacking him with a knife.

The 47-year-old victim suffered a broken nose, two small slash wounds on his arm and leg, and bruising after being repeatedly punched to the head. He received treatment for these injuries at hospital and was later discharged.

The victim was allegedly threatened over money before the intruders stole an Xbox, mountain bike, and bank cards before leaving the address.

No arrests have currently been made.

Nottinghamshire Police are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the incident or has any information to come forward to help the investigation.

Detective Constable Nathan Bingham, said: “Violence like this is abhorrent and we are determined to catch those responsible

“It’s believed some of the suspects are known to the victim and we do not believe there is a wider threat to the public.

“Enquires are ongoing into this incident. We are urging anyone with any information to contact us with any detail that may help our investigation.
