Nottinghamshire Police have issued a statement as the search of a home in Clifton as part of an ‘ongoing investigation’ came to an end.
A van and police car were parked just outside the home as investigators were searching the property.
Now, Nottinghamshire Police has confirmed their search has ended.
Detective Inspector Ruby Burrow said: “No evidence was found of any criminality following our extensive search.
“We’d like to thank members of the community for their support and patience while we carried out our inquiries.”
Neighbours on the street said they were “shocked” and said that the police have been at the scene throughout the night.
Hailey Astil, 39, was walking in the neighbourhood with her mother and said: “I lived here all my life and I have never seen anything like it.
“I am shocked. “I am concerned on the impact that this investigation could have on the families who live here.
“I think that the community should know what is happening.”
Her 67-year-old mum Susan Astil added: “It is concerning and we are definitely worried.
“Police are doing their job and hopefully we will find out soon.”
Officers said there was no wider risk to the public and police have stressed that the current householder is not under investigation.
