Massive Hits Radio – Public File

Each local radio station in the UK must comply with the requirements set out in its licence – and this includes maintaining the ‘Key Commitment’ obligations set out in an annex to the licence.

Each Station is also required to maintain a ‘Public File’ of core information relating to the radio station and its output.

The information set out below relates to the service provided by Massive Hits Radio.

Licence – Massive Hits Radio

Massive Hits Radio is licensed by Ofcom, the UK Government regulator for broadcasting services. Licence number: DP105028BA/1

The licence is held by Massive Hits Limited, a private company limited by guarantee.

Massive Hits Radio broadcasts on DAB Digital Radio in Rutland & Stamford and online.

Massive Hits main studios are located within the radio station service area in Northamptonshire.

Programming

Massive Hits Radio broadcasts 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Massive Hits Radio’s current Programme Schedule can be viewed on the ‘Schedule’ page of this website.

All of Massive Hits Radio live programmes originate from within the service area. The station makes use of computer playout technology and some programmes may be pre-recorded or recorded ‘as live’ (i.e recorded shortly before broadcast). A small proportion of programming (generally outside of peak hours) may be fully automated.

Music Content

Massive Hits Radio plays a broad mix of music from the 1960s to the present day, with an emphasis in core programming on music from the 1980s, 1990s, 2000s and recent hits from the 2010’s and today.

Massive Hits Radio also broadcasts several ‘specialist’ music programmes, including specific programmes dedicated to, for example, Soul, the 1980s, music charts from the last 60 years – and emerging talent from the local music scene.

News Output

Massive Hits Radio broadcasts regular national news bulletins 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Additional half-hourly national bulletins are provided during breakfast and drive-time programming.

The national news service is provided by Radio News Hub (www.radionewshub.com)

A selection of local news stories may be shared via social media.

Complaints

Massive Hits Radio will always look to resolve any complaint about its programme output, news, advertising or online content in an informal manner.
