See inside STACK Lincoln as construction nears completion ahead of opening

Construction is still underway at a leisure complex on Lincoln High Street which will bring food, drink and live entertainment to the city centre. STACK Lincoln is a large-scale hospitality venue incorporating five bars and 10 street food outlets, and is opening to the public on Wednesday, May 22.

It will replace the former Argos in the old St Marks railway station building which first opened in 1846. Along with the food and drink outlets, STACK will have a roof terrace, coffee shop, large screens showing live sport, and a central plaza with a stage for live entertainment.

CEO and founder, Neil Winch, opened the first STACK venue in Newcastle in 2018. There are 14 STACK venues either open or in the works. They are all multipurpose leisure venues made from shipping containers or housed in large, repurposed retail units.

The Lincoln site will open its doors on May 22 at 4pm, ahead of the bank holiday weekend and just in time for the start of Euro 2024 next month. Work is really taking shape inside the venue which will soon be up and running for customers of all ages to enjoy.

Among the traders are YOLO Coffee and Kitchen, Holy Duck – which specialises in duck wraps and duck loaded fries – and Zza Pizzeria, all three of which are hugely popular at STACK Seaburn. Lincolnshire street food operator, The Barbell Burger Co, has found a new home at STACK Lincoln, alongside Oh La La Street Food, renowned for their generous potato and halloumi fries, covered in a range of toppings.

Mr Winch said: “We are thrilled to announce the opening of STACK Lincoln, marking a significant milestone in our nationwide expansion,” he said. As we prepare to open our doors on May 22, we’re excited to introduce the unique STACK experience to Lincoln just in time for the bank holiday weekend.

“This new venue, a creatively repurposed retail unit in the heart of the city, embodies our commitment to revitalising urban spaces while fostering community engagement. At STACK, we aim to create a vibrant leisure hub for locals and visitors alike to enjoy an eclectic mix of live entertainment and street food.

“And we look forward to becoming an integral part of Lincoln’s community and providing a festival style experience for everyone to enjoy.”
