Taco Bell to create 40 new jobs in Mansfield as plans for new drive thru and restaurant confirmed

Plans for a new Taco Bell have been revealed – with the global chain set to create 40 jobs for people in the Mansfield area.

The proposed new restaurant would be situated on the same site as the KFC in Sandlands Way in Old Mill Lane, Forest Town.

It has been proposed that the new restaurant operation will create up to 40 new jobs, comprising of a mix of 20 full-time and 20 part-time staff.

The proposed new 1,580sqft venue would be a single storey drive thru and restaurant.

A planning statement for application states: “The proposal will also involve the creation of 40 jobs in total.

“The proposal will make use of an established drive-thru restaurant site within a wider established local centre, providing an additional drive-thru restaurant unit on a site which is predominantly a previously developed car park, and located within a sustainable location within the urban area of Mansfield.”

The proposed number of new parking bays stands at 28, including three order spots and three disabled bays.

The statement adds: “The proposal will retain existing drive-thru facilities connected with the existing KFC restaurant, with a reconfigured drive-thru lane allowing separate entry from those associated with the Taco Bell restaurant.

“There would be a separate drive thru lane for the Taco Bell, as shown on the submitted Proposed Site Plan and the KFC would exit through a new egress positioned south of the site.

“This will avoid any delays to customers who have visited the KFC drive thru, but do not wish to visit the Taco Bell outlet (and vice versa).”

If approved by the council’s planning committee, opening times at Taco Bell will be 10.30am-11pm Monday to Sunday.
