After a big success last year, the Volunteer Fair is returning to the Kettering Market Place for its second year.
People interested in volunteering in Kettering can come along to a special street fair in the town centre to find out how they can get involved in volunteering and help others by joining local groups and charities.
The Volunteer Fair will take place on Saturday, 30 May, from 10 am to 3 pm in the Market Place and High Street, where a range of local groups, charities, and non-profit organisations will be showcasing the volunteer opportunities they have available. The event will also feature street food, stalls, arts and crafts traders, live music, and performances.
As well as the Volunteer Fair, Kettering Town Council is putting on a series of events across the season, including:
Kettfest on Saturday 13 June
Skateboarding Days on Saturdays, 20 June and 29 August
Armed Forces Day on Sunday, 27 June
Bands in the Park in Rockingham Road Pleasure park, every Sunday afternoon from 28 June to 23 August
Kettering Continental Market from Thursday 2 to Sunday 5 July
Kettering By The Sea in the Market Place from Tuesday 21 July to 11 August
Friday Night Discos on 28 August and 11 September
Love Food on Sunday, 30 August at Wicksteed Park
Emma Dezelu, Clerk of Kettering Town Council, said: “Our Volunteer Fair turned out to be really popular last year and is a fantastic way to spend a Saturday in town. There will be a great selection of street food and stalls as well as live performances to keep everyone entertained.
We are really pleased to be able to offer our voluntary sector groups the opportunity to promote themselves and recruit more volunteers. They do so much for our town, and it’s wonderful to be able to support them as they continue their great work.”
