Woman dies in crash on embankment in Derbyshire village

Derbyshire Police have confirmed that a woman has died following an incident in north Derbyshire on Tuesday, March 22. The collision took place at 8.10am on Valehouse Way, which is part of a new housing estate, known as Willow Gardens, in the village of Tintwhistle.

Police issued the following statement: “A woman has sadly died following an incident in Tintwistle. The woman was in collision with a car, thought to be her own vehicle. The car went down an embankment and the woman died at the scene.

“Emergency services were called to the incident, Valehouse Way, just after 8.10am on Tuesday 22 March. Specially trained officers are supporting the woman’s family at this time.”

There has been no further information released on the incident at the time. Valehouse Way is a small residential road off Torside Street, between Hadfield and the A628 Manchester Road through Tintwhistle. It backs on to the River Etherow and is near the Bottoms and Valehouse Reservoirs.
