A young man has sadly died after being involved in a late-night crash in a Derbyshire village. A 32-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene of a two-vehicle collision on Carnfield Hill, in South Normanton.

Police, fire and East Midlands Ambulance Service were all called to the scene at around 11.20pm last night, Saturday, March 19. Another man, who was driving the second vehicle, was taken to hospital where he remains today, Sunday, March 20, being treated for his injuries.

Now, police have launched an appeal for witnesses to the crash, and would like to speak to anyone who may have seen a red Skoda Fabia around the Alfreton or South Normanton area earlier last night.
