Danielle describes Denii as her best friend and explains how life will never be the same as she continues “trying to fix a broken family”. Her wish in sharing Denii’s story is that it might help raise awareness of the dangers of irresponsible and dangerous driving.

During the Crimewatch Live episode, she recalled her final moments eating dinner with Denii. She said: “We actually sat in my bedroom and ate and it was quite nice. For me, it was the last supper.

“She went out to bingo with her nanna and from bingo she went out with her friends and that was the last time I saw her.” She added: “I can’t describe how amazing she was to be around and everyone enjoyed her company.”

Recalling the moment she arrived at the scene of the crash, Danielle said: “When I got there, there were just cars everywhere and people everywhere and I knew then that it was bad. I just ran and I saw a police officer then running towards me and I instantly knew. I asked her ‘she’s gone isn’t she?’ and she just said ‘I’m so sorry’.”
