Officers find remains of five butchered sheep dumped in bin bags in Boston

The remains of five sheep have been found butchered in Boston. The animals are believed to have been stolen whilst alive, killed in an inhumane way and then butchered.

The remains were discovered on North Forty Foot Bank near Langrick Road. Officers found the remains dumped in black plastic bin bags that were contained within a large pink bag.

Lincolnshire Police is working to identify the owners of the sheep and have shared images of the ear tags. On Monday, November 18, the Lincolnshire Police Rural Crime Action Team shared a post about the incident on its Facebook page.

It stated: “Sadly, yet again the remains of five sheep have been discovered on the North Forty Foot bank just a long from Langrick Road, Boston.. Enquires are ongoing to identify the owners at it is strongly suspected that these have been stolen whilst alive, killed (not humanely) then butchered.

“The images are not pretty however we are keen to identify the owners who may well recognize the ear tags… The remains were dumped down the bank in black plastic bin bags contained in a large pink bag.”

It continued: “The officer had to open up each bag and investigate the contents. There is a real risk if the meat from these animals enters the human food chain as they may well have been treated recently.”
