English rock band The Stranglers will headline Live at Lincoln Castle in June 2025. They are one of the longest surviving bands to have originated during the UK punk scene and will be joined by fellow punk pioneers Buzzcocks.
This year has seen The Stranglers celebrate their 50th anniversary and they remain an enduring force in the world of rock music. They join a growing list of other headliners at Lincoln Castle next year including Olly Murs, Texas and Simple Minds.
The Stranglers will perform in Lincoln on Friday, June 13 2025 and tickets go on sale at 10am on Friday, October 18. The group’s 19 Top 40 albums and 24 UK Top 40 singles include such hits as Peaches, No More Heroes and Walk On By, Always The Sun, Strange Little Girl and the mercurial Golden Brown, among many others.
The headline concerts are part of an ongoing partnership with Lincolnshire County Council and Live Nation promoters Cuffe and Taylor. Mark Harrison from Cuffe and Taylor said: “The Stranglers are icons of British rock.
“Their music has been celebrated for 50 years and to have such pioneers as Buzzcocks joining them on the bill will make for a truly memorable concert. We can’t wait to welcome both bands to Live at Lincoln Castle.”
Councillor Lindsey Cawrey, executive member for culture at Lincolnshire County Council, added: “It’s exciting to announce The Stranglers will be playing Lincoln Castle on June 13. They’ve created some of the best punk rock anthems from the 1970s and 1980s such as Golden Brown, No More Heroes, Always the Sun and Peaches.
“And I don’t expect there will be anyone in Lincoln Castle not dancing and singing along to Buzzcocks’ Ever Fallen in Love (With Someone You Shouldn’t). I can’t wait to see them.”
